Our History

The History Of Quay IT Solutions

In 2008 the Quay IT Solutions company owner worked for a small charity based in the East End Of Sunderland UK.  Hendon 2000 LTD provided IT support to charity and voluntary sector organisations based in the loacl area, funded by grants from Lottery funds, and local authority at the peak of its existance helped over 100 organisations with IT support and published a montly magazine called EastWise.

A drop-in IT centre for the residents of Hendon and the East End was operated in the Raich Carter Sports Complex along comercial road, once the reccession to hold in 2009 the company was forced to go into administration as funding dried up and support was no longer there.

The companies board dispeced and went onto work for other groups, it's manager went onto work for a local CIC company and Gary, well after working closely with the organisations could not let them go without the much needed support they required.

After meeting with a selection of them and forming a basic maintenance package, the business was formed, although at this time wasn't called Quay IT Solutions.   Gary had created a business called DH1 Design earlier in the year, although not starting the business initally, he offered the IT support under this name.

The business took it's name of Quay IT Solutions in April 2011 when we moved the company and took it into offices based in St Peters Gate in Sunderland. Since then it now requires more space, and now has a large office based in East Durham with adequate space for servers and support workshops.

The business is set to grow in 2012 and as we take on more clients and staff, we aim to be in a science park by the end of 2013.

Projected forcast and growth will see the business hit a projected turnover of £1.2m by the end of 2015
